It's only just begun.

One boxscore in the books, and I'm already feeling pretty good about one of my previously-proffered out-of-left-field super-sleepers for the season. Whilst the Celtics' offence ran wholly through its three All-Stars --Garnett, Pierce, and Allen played 95 minutes, and took 42 of the teams' 76 shots-- there was enough opportunity for my chosen child Eddie House to hang up 14 points in 23 minutes, including 2/6 from deep. Though it's far too early to come to any sort of conclusions, I'd say House has certainly got the early jump on being the instant-offence-off-the-bench for the Celtics; given the projected other starters, Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins, are in there for their defence.

There's less significance in Toronto's boxscore, given that they ran out 12 guys, and only played one --Carlos Delfino-- more than 24 minutes. Although, that said, those who got on the court are clearly their top 12; and it seems as if Sam Mitchell is leaning towards having a first unit and a second unit once more. That in itself holds huge fantasy concerns, for if their wings --Anthony Parker and Jason Kapono as starters, Juan Dixon and Delfino as reserves-- do anything that resembles splitting-time, none of them will have any real fantasy value. Meaning that, after Bosh, there'll be a huge drop-off down to Bargnani, Ford, and Calderon as contributors of note; and then no one else. Anthony Parker is getting plenty of good publicity as a worthy 80-something type draft pick, but I just don't see it. As you'll soon discover, Parker is one of the 'rated' guys I'd be going out of my way to avoid...
